Hiring: Plastics Sales Professionals

McD Prime® Corp. is a middle market resin and color distributor and custom compounder, with additional sustainable/recycled content products provided through our sister company McDunnough, Inc. We are rapidly growing within these industry segments, and we are looking for energetic, focused, and driven individuals to join our sales team. The company offers a very competitive compensation and benefits program including base salary, incentive compensation, full benefits package including health, life, dental, optical, STD/LTD, matching 401K, travel expense reimbursement, paid holidays and PTO.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with commodity and/or engineered resins as well as compounds, with experience selling into extrusion, injection molding and other processors across multiple industry sectors.

Summary: Sell and promote plastic resins, colors and compounds to manufacturers within their territory. Maintain and build existing business and prospect for new customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop strong relationships with customers, provide solutions and resolve problems.
  • Develop strong relationships with customers, provide solutions and resolve problems.
  • Travel throughout assigned territory, as necessary to call on regular and prospective customers
  • Calculate, quote, and negotiate price, deliveries, and terms of sales
  • Proactively contact new clients & industries to generate leads & sales.
  • Create quantifiable objectives for each sales call & summarize each call with notes.
  • Utilize & maintain our CRM database with customer information & sales notes.
  • Prepare requested reports for Management, including activities, business transactions, sales forecast, and expense account.
  • Analyze customers’ potential needs and adjust strategy and tactics accordingly.
  • Research new markets and applications for resins, colors and plastic compounds for new and existing products.
  • Forecast current future business volume for better business planning and lower manufacturing costs

Requirements:

  • Prefer 2 – 10+ years’ experience selling plastic resins and/or thermoplastic compounds
  • Experience as technical, consultative seller able to identify customer needs and suggest material solutions

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, presentation and influencing skills
  • Work in conjunction with Operations support team, manufacturing, and other company leadership
  • Able to commit to some overnight travel when required
